Barnsley will be hoping to confirm their place in knockout stages of the EFL Trophy with a positive result against Lincoln on Tuesday night with kick off at 7pm.

The Reds currently sit 2^nd in the group and will progress into the next round if they avoid a defeat by 7 goals.

This is due to 3^rd place Man United U21s having already played their 3 games, with them sitting on 3 points like the Reds, however having a –2 goal difference compared to the Reds +4.

Barnsley's chances of progression where significantly helped after Man United U21s beat Notts County 2-0 at Meadow Lane last Tuesday.

Lincoln have already secured their place in the knock-out stages, having beaten both Notts County and Man United U21s 3-0.

The Imps are coming into the game off the back of a disappointing 3-0 defeat away at Rotherham.

However, Lincoln have had a great start overall to their League One campaign sitting in 6^th place after 15 games with 7 wins, 4 draws and 4 defeats.

Lincoln have former Reds defenders Adam Jackson and Dexter Lembikisa in their squad.

They are managed by 43-year-old Michael Skubala, who has been in charge since November 2023.

If Barnsley can beat Lincoln by at least 2 goals, they will secure a home time in the next round of the competition and top the group.

The draw for the next round will be on Thursday, and the tie is set to be played on the week commencing December 1.
