Goals from Yoganathan and Keillor-Dunn secured all three points for the Super Reds at local rivals Doncaster Rovers.

Rover’s boss and ex-red Grant McCann feels that the home side should have been awarded a penalty, but replays are most certainly inconclusive as far as I am concerned having watched it umpteen times.

The reds looked a lot better than they had in recent weeks, but the game could have easily gone either way.

Keillor-Dunn and Ogbeta had to settle for a place on the bench as they recovered from illness which meant a start for Rooney at left back.

Rooney suffered a torrid time and was withdrawn at half time. I personally would have considered taking him off after five minutes as he struggled to cope with the Donny winger.

Ogbeta replaced him and was much better after a few poor games himself. On the other side, Watson had a rare poor game which included dropping the ball when taking a throw in that contributed to Doncaster’s goal.

Yoganathan scored his first league goal for the reds playing in an unfamiliar right-wing role but actually looked much better than he had in his recent midfield performances.

Keillor-Dunn scored in a matter of minutes from his introduction to make it 10 already for the season. Ten goals at this stage of the season is truly remarkable and to make it even more so, he hasn’t played particularly well in most games and has also been moved from pillar to post in terms of positions he has played.

Cleary was a constant threat all afternoon and caused their full back to be withdrawn at half time as well.

Roberts and Shepherd were fairly solid and Bland went about his business in midfield with minimal fuss. McGoldrick also played well before tiring and being replaced by Keillor-Dunn.

Kelly was the standout for me with his ability to carry the ball and also make those important passes in terms of the assist for Keillor-Dunn and other key passes to create chances. One player that seemed to go under the radar on this one was Connell who helped create both goals with his initial pass out of defence and also went about his business as usual.

The reds sit 11^th after what seemed like a poor run of results prior to this one. If they win both games in hand, they would be up to join second such is the congestion throughout the league.

Next up is the pop and crisps trophy followed by the international break so yet another game to catch up on. It is about time that they had no League One games at all in the international break in my opinion.
