The two Gloucester players Henry Paul and Simon Amor have both started well for England in the Commonwealth Games sevens tournament, as they progress into the quarter final stages. England got off to a winning start against the Cook Islands, although the defense looked shakey and they went behind twice. England sorted themselves out in the second half though, winning 24 - 12.

In the second match on Friday they faced Kenya, who had beaten possible medalists Samoa earlier in the day. Again Enlgnad started badly, but henry Paul saved the day with two brilliant tries, to pretty much secure a quarter final place, winning 33 - 12.

On Saturday morning England faced Samoa, their toughest challenge yet, but this time it was the turn of new boy Simon Amor to score twice giving England an eventual 19 - 7 victory. England will face either Australia or favourites Fiji in the last-eight stages.
