Ian Jones Returns To Kingsholm

Ian Jones is set to return to Kingsholm as forwards coach. The former All Black great will take over from Scotsman Ian Smith. Jones is a favourite at Gloucester and everyone will hope he has a players role to play as well, as he has turned so many Gloucester games around in the past in the lineout. When Ian Jones left at the end of last season many felt that it was because of his relationship with the coaching team but he simply said that he needed to retire. However, Gloucester coach Nigel Melville tempted Jones the the taller out of retirement to play at Wasps. When Melville first joined Gloucester there was speculation that Jones could return, and now it has been finally confirmed. He is officially joining as a forwards coach, but everyone will hope it is as player coach. Nigel Melville is obviously someone that players would like to come to the club to be coached by, and hopefully this will set us up well for signings in the summer, though without many players looking like they are ready to leave there won't be many comings and goings at the club. This can only be good!
