Josh Hathaway's hat-trick and a try bonus point were the consolation for Gloucester as Sarries cruised to a 46-24 win.

However, it was another try-scorer who got the headlines as  Sarries' Tom Parton's efforts in the first twenty minutes constituted is  the earliest hat-trick in Premiership history.

It was 22-0 at half-time but Gloucs did have a second half revival with Hathaway's tries plus a late effort from Seb Blake getting that try bonus point.

Talking to the media head coach George Skivington admitted: "We were massive underdogs today, we obviously brought a lot of young players and there were some Premiership debuts out there today.

"The odds were massively against the boys, we just asked for character, work rate, throw yourself in and see what you can do. I think we learned some valuable lessons."
