Big Christmas Game

Hastings Starts

Gloucester really must build on last week's Challenge Cup performance against Clermont. This season, so far, has been decidely disappointing for the Cherry and White faifthul but all will be forgiven if Northampton Saints are despatched with some style on Saturday at Kingsholm - kick off 3.00.

Gloucs go into the game in second bottom  position having won only two of their eight Premiership games. We will be bolstered by the return of Adam Hastings who comes in at fly-half with Ruan Ackermann also back.  It's a strong squad on paper - excuses will be starting to run thin if Saints win this one.

Ackerman is the only change in the pack from last week's 28-17 win while Santi Carreras moves to full back to accommodate Hastings.

Gloucs: 15. Santi Carreras 14. Louis Rees-Zammit 13. Chris Harris12. Max Llewellyn 11. Ollie Thorley 10. Adam Hastings 9. Stephen Varney 1. Harry Elrington 2. Santi Socino 3. Fraser Balmain 4. Freddie Clarke 5. Matias Alemanno 6. Ruan Ackermann 7. Lewis Ludlow (Capt) 8. Zach Mercer.

Bench: 16. George McGuigan 17. Jamal Ford-Robinson 18. Kirill Gotovtsev 19. Cam Jordan 20. Jack Clement 21. Charlie Chapman 22. Seb Atkinson 23. Lloyd Evans.

Good luck for the game! As a Saints fan I am a little nervous with our injuries and having 3 scrum halves in the match day squad, with a academy center playing on the wing. But let us hope it is a competitive, entertaining game.
