Another defeat thanks to a lack of game management. The last minute 22-19 defeat by Sale will be remembered for the fracas at the end when Billy Twelvetrees was understandly angered by the actions of a Sale "water boy" who reached over the hoarding to grab the ball and prevent Gloucs from taking a quick throw.
Billy was yellow carded and others in the unseemly start to 2021 were lucky to get red.
Regardless, we ae now bottom of the table with Wuss getting points for games they haven't played. But it is a strange season, and we need to get some focus and harness the undoubted strengths, which are beginning to show through.
We were comfortable for a large part of the game and led 16-9 at the break thanks to early tries from Fraser Balmain and Louis Rees-Zammit.
AJ MacGinty's boot kept Sale in touch with 3 first-half penalties - and two more made it 16-15. Lloyd Evans wasn't in his best kicking formm but he put us 19-15 up and it was time to close the game down.
Instead, we messed up a line-out in the Sale corner and were somewhat miffed to be penalised in the Sale 22.
The visitors took advantage making their way back up the park. The returning Josh Beaumont put his year long inujury absence behind him to deliver the sucker punch from close range.
We are at a resurgent Falcons next Saturday and need the points..
