We knew that two storms were going to hit Kingsholm - Ellen and Semi Radrada. We couldn't do anything about either. The Fijian had the biggest impact as he led the way to a four try haul for the Bears in the first half hour. We feared an embarassing derby diaster but fought our way back to a semi- respectable 24-33 defeat.

Radrada set up[ the fiorst two tries for Max Malins and Henry Purdy (he enjoyed that) and then added the fourth bonus point try after Harry Thacker had gone over.
Fraser Balmain got one back form a rolling maul but it still looked like game over. Not quite, fortunately, as the Fijiain powerhouse showed his defence is not as good as his attack when he allowed Chris Harris to cut through with ease.
We went into the break 26-14 down. That could, and should, have been a smaller margin as we failed to scoire from three line-outs on the 5-metre line just before tye break.
The second half was scrappier and that suited Gloucs on the night. Earl scored for the Bears beofre Stephen Varney git a deserved try to bring us to within two scores.
Sadly, that's as close as it got.
