Now the dust has settled on Billy Burns shock departure to Ulster it does seem od that any of us were that surprised. Just because Billy had spent all of his formative years at Kingsholm, and the main occupier of the 10 shirt for the last two seasons, doesn't mean he was a fixture.
In these days of professionalism (and agents) money is made from the merry-go-round. Ulster needs to show their supporters they are ambitious, and Billy beeds to go somewhere where he is pretty much first choice.
Does anyone assume Cipriani has joined Glaws without the same kind or promise?
We wish the talented Billy well and will miss him. At the same time we look forward to the mercurial talents of Danny and, if he doesn't deliver, or gets injured we always have King Billy to fall back on.
