There aren't many teams which concede 50 points to their derby rivals and  then get a standing ovation from their supporters. But the young side which took on a strong Bath side at the Rec fully deserved the appreciation they received....

There were no less than eight Academy players in a squad whcih conceded 50 but scored 30 points of its own fighting all the way against a side packed with seasoned internationals.

Of course, all eyes are on next Sunday and the play off against Connacht - hence the depleted Gloucester side with nobody travelling in the expectation that we would get a result.

Steve McColl scored a coupole of tries and the second was a stunner as he finished off a series of offloads to scythe through the home defence.

He may well feature next Sunday as a result.
