More Mistakes Sting Us

Mistakes once again cost us dearly as we went down 38-30 at Twickers and our chances of qualifying for this new European competition look slim ..

Instead it is Wasps who now have occupy the final European spot .

A sharp  break from Nathan Hughes provided the opportunity for James Haskell to provide  the opening score before Tom May went over with Twelvetrees converting

An Andy Goode's penalty followed  before  Varndell took advantage of a misplaced pass from Twelvetrees.

Billy slotted a couple of penalties  but Daly wenbtv over with Goode's converting.

It was  24-16 at the break and we went further behind when Johnson powered over and Goode converted again.

We came back  with Edmonds breaking from the ruck to touch down and Twelvetrees adding the conversion only for Haskell to force his way over the line.

With Johnson in the  bin for a deliberate knock-on we tookdk advatage with Freddie Burns gratefully intercpting to go unopposed, with Twelvetrees reducing the gap to eight points.

Wasps went down to 13 men, after Andrea Masi received a yellow card for blocking Charlie Sharples, but we could not capitalize.

There have been a lot of games where we have lost by just a few points. We have decent attackers and some great individual try scorers but as well as beefing up the pack perhaps we need more defense work.

Just want to forget this season to be honest.

There have been highlpi9hts of course but we have performed way below our potential.
They;re still talking about getting that 7th Europe play off place but we are seven points adrift with two games to play so its pie in the proverbial sky.
