David Beckham has been given another chance to help England during the World Cup. Fabio Capello has told him he can travel as part of the teams full time coaching staff. Beckham is unable to play in South Africa after suffering an injury to his left Achilles tendon while playing for AC Milan in March
Beckham was speaking about his chance during an interview and stated:
“Obviously I’ve spoken to the manager and I’ve spoken to Franco Baldini. They’ve made me well aware that they feel I have a role to play with the players and the team. Whether that’s a coaching role, I don’t know. I’m honoured that a manager of his status and experience feels that I would be important. I will have to see how my therapy goes over the next couple of weeks, but I’m hoping to travel with the team. It’s a huge boost to myself to be asked to be involved. I would rather be there than not.”
