According to a number of internet rumours sites a swap deal involving 2 ex-saddlers could be on the cards, a bit shocking considering we released both of the players, although many fans believe we shouldn’t of let them go.
The sources say that Millwall are interested in signing 25-year-old striker Andy Bishop from Bury, with Darren Byfield moving in the other direction. Byfield will be remembered for his winning goal against Reading at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff and in my opinion would be a great signing for Bury in League 2 but I can’t really see the benefit for Millwall in this deal, as it is Bishop isn’t setting the league a light in the division below.
Another former Saddler who could be on the move is also a striker, who wasn’t really given a chance at Bescot Stadium, Karl Hawley of Carlisle. The 26-year-old could be joining Leicester City for a rumoured £500 000, but this could prove bad news for another former striker who is at Leicester Matty Fryatt, with Iain Hume, Elvis Hammond also at the club will Fryatt’s service’s be needed? Especially since leaving The Saddlers he hasn’t been able to find his goal scoring touch.
