We're on a roll, but if we don't start strong Welford Road could be noisy and intimidate. Lots to play for, unlike Tigers, who will want to end a run of 5 Prem losses.
Tigers 22: Chiefs 32
In Rob we trust.
By the way - cream on first. There's nothing to debate.
Happy with th hookers and good continuity from last week. Is Rusi Tuima injured, struggling to understand why hes not at least on the bench.
Think we will get the 5 points so 20 - 37 to us.
Go Chiefs & Sarries.
Clearly tigers have massively underperformed given they are at the top of the biggest spending clubs including marquee. They have not had a lot of stability re coaching staff forever changing which must impact some players performances. We know what’s coming a forward orientated game plan with lots of kicking and trying to win turnovers with kicks to corner. We have to be as clean as possible at the breakdown and play the ref interpretation we know he can be frustrating but let’s make it not about him.
As long as we play with freedom and give the best account we can then that’s fine with me. Yes we have a number of front row injuries but these lads deserve their chance and will not let us down Street has been impressive this season and will be even better next year.
Think it will be close my heart chiefs head tigers who are home.
Tigers 38 chiefs 31.
Tigers have failed to perform this season, on paper they look a strong side, but with nothing to play for but pride and us needing a bonus point win will they play with freedom and/or will the pressure get to us. Think we'll do it, just, Tigers 24 - 28 Chiefs.
A very difficult season for Tigers and whilst on Paper the teams looks strong their performances certainly haven’t shown that!
No attack coach for most of the season as Alan Dickens was put on gardening leave!
Very poor since the 6N break and it seems issues with fitness, strong rumours that are S&C coach has been dismissed after less than a season with the club!
Aled Walters was the biggest loss IMO of the coaches (5 of them) that left for England roles.
Playing for Pride and for departing players like Wiese and Scott tomorrow and fingers crossed the players want to restore a bit of pride after their appalling game at Sandy Park!
I think their pack will try to bully ours. It will be a physical game and will require some real grunt and grit from the whole team but especially the forwards.
Wiese, Reffell, Montana, Liebenberg and Martin all pose a threat and need to be contained, or better still put on the back foot. Its a big test for Daf.
But provided our back line gets good ball, we can do it.
Tigers can be a different team at home, so I never write them off as it may come back to bite you.
Out team need to believe in themselves, and as we usually let in the first try keep their heads up.
Fitness I believe will not be an issue so as mentioned by some players, Rob wants 80 minutes performance which they are very capable of as we gain experience mentally as well as physically as with Quins bp score.
Think Rob’s set a target of 30 points for the boys to aim for, and win of course, so I do believe we will do this, then it’s up in the air if we get any further, but we have already performed better than hoped this season.
A forward battle likely. Looking at the Tigers team on paper it is difficult to see why their results have been bad. They have less incentive to win than us so that is a big plus. The breakdown and how it is reffed very important - we need quick ball and a bonus point win. Please no cards and we need to stay on the right side of the ref! Hopefully Chiefs 34 Tigers 18
Glad to see that Karl Dixon’s old mate Mike Brown is back from his red card (for foul mouthing the officials…)
We definitely need to start well, otherwise the Welford Road crowd will get on top of us.
Leicester 29, Chiefs 31
away results have been far poorer than home and we will want to get in front and stay there. The last 2 games we have had refs that have not been too whistle happy and let the game flow lets hope for the same.
I can see Tigers scoring more penalties but fewer tries. We will absolutely need to protect the ball and keep discipline at the breakdown and set piece. Let's hope everyone isn't talking about Dickson at 5.00pm.
Who knows! We are very hard to predict! Play like last week and we'll get the five points. I believe we have the edge in the backs, if we can get at least parity up front I'll be confident. Then there is KD to take into account and our pretty poor away form. I'm going to predict a loss as I've done that the last two weeks and we've won! Tigers 24 Chiefs 21
