Forever the optimist, heart rules head. Come what may I’ll be there cheering as loudly as possible and waving my enormous Chiefs flag. Should be a fantastic occasion regardless of the result.
Enjoy the game and enjoy the experience. Moule fritze on the front and a cold beer at every opportunity. Their supporters are very welcoming and although their meeting place can look a bit grubby it’s a lot of fun.
No, his partnership with Hawkins is improving every game and it needs to continue, also his kicking and experience will make a huge difference to our performance compared to leaving him out.

Still wonder whether a better learning curve would have been a season in Challenge Cup
Would also have helped us to rest some key players
Toulon 46 Chiefs 12
I think it might be close. The French underestimating us. The secret for us to win is controlling Ollivon, parity in the scrum and lineout, few pens, slowing the breakdown and not slipping off tackles and no cards. Prediction therefore is Toulon 32 Chiefs 21 but I would love to be wrong.
Surprised we have not rested a few with the tigers game coming up where we need as many first teamers on show as possible. Shows Baxter’s lack of confidence in some of our squad players.
Think it could be a little bit of a mismatch particularly in the backs.
Toulon 49 Chiefs 14.
Can’t see anything other than a home win here:
Toulon 32 - 17 Chiefs
Europe will be tough l feel this season, I’d be content if we made it into the last 16 round.
Think it will be a tough afternoon! I was there for that great match all those years ago, what a trip. Good luck to everyone lucky enough to be going this time, have a fantastic time 👍👍👍
Our recent record in France is not too bad. I think it might be closer than some of you think. That's pretty much the best 15 we could have selected and we've kept most games tight this year. Still think Toulon will win but maybe closer than predicted by many.
Toulon 32 Chiefs 27. Obviously I could be hugely wrong and we get blown away! A good start is crucial, but then again when isn't it!!

hopefully we will drop down into the Challenge Cup and go on to win that
I saw Toulon as at least 30 points better than us. It might be more. In Ollivon Villiere, and Jaminet Toulon have three players just so much better than anything we have to offer. But, the boys are working hard and Cairns has done well. Generally overpowered so far. Second half may be interesting.🥸
Badger on the Potomac And like that with nerves of steel Slade slots the conversion .
...
That kick was a bit tense with all the faff about the shot clock then the position. When the commentator said that Slade knew exactly where the mark was but was trying it on a bit I thought he might have put more pressure on himself but fair play, he nailed it.
I felt the commentators were pretty poor. Everything was about Toulon and how they didn't score in the second half. Nothing about the immense defensive effort by Chiefs to pretty much keep the out of the 22 so they couldn't score. Would it be the case if it'd had been Sarries instead of Chiefs?
And again, we experience the losing team picking up the player of the match!! 😂
In Rob we trust.
By the way - cream on first. There's nothing to debate.
The MOM is a regular issue if the games are in France although I am not sure who should have got it, It was very much a collective team effort and several Chiefs players night have deserved it. I thought Sam Warburton was pretty good in his summary after the match. He emphasised our excellent defence, the difficulties of playing away at Toulon, our excellent line-speed and sorting better our kicking and stopping giving away the penalties in the second 40. The commentators always seem to place one team on a pedestal and over-hype it. It often grates but I do not want us on a pedestal in their eyes after this brilliant win. That just leads to lots of negativity later on when we lose or make mistakes.
I actually have no problem whatsoever giving mom to a player from either side if he is the best player on the pitch. The ridiculous Rugby presenters on BT and now TNT who award mom always from the winning team is amateurish at best.
For yesterday to a man they all played extremely well given the gulf in experience and international caps plus Toulon’s home record and sitting second in their league - therefore a ‘team’ men of the match for me. A simply outstanding result.
On the way home now. A fantastic weekend only enhanced by the result. We know the French don't respect the kicker but the noise for that final kick was incredible. Fortunately Henry blocked it out and slotted it. The Toulon supporters we were drinking with after the game were very gracious and as surprised as us.
As I was having a go at the commentators above, my reference to MotM was how tough it is interviewing said player having just lost. If they have to, wouldn't it be better to make the award after the final whistle?
Congratulations to those that predicted a win and particularly to our newcomer this week, dwhite805 for his prediction of a 24-19 Chiefs win gaining him 3 points.
