With about 40 of our squad not available for this one great to see the youngsters get some game time. We have always used this competition as a stepping stone for the future and whist some of the youngsters in the premiership squad for todays game would have probably featured, I’m still looking forward to the game. Looking to see how young Bailey goes in the second row appears to be a v good prospect.
Whilst Bath squad slightly more experienced they have also entered into the right spirit for this fixture.
Think it will be high scoring - Exe 35 Bath 33.
Agree totally great that many youngsters are gett6ing game time. No idea of score but have to go with heart so Chiefs win. Score will be lower because of lots of mistakes in rainy weather. Chiefs 32 Bath 27
Really chuffed with that side! Lots of youngsters but also Aidon Davis, james kenny and Facundo cordero i think all returning from injury? Lots of the great youngsters from Cornish Pirates too. Looks like big crowd for them so really hope they enjoy it and a few stand up and make people take notice. The 3 youngsters from wasps must be looking forward to it!!
A absolute guess on this as I have no idea so at home, wind in our favour, large crowd, players want to impress, its 46.19 to the chiefs. and hoping for some entertainment while i freeze in the west stand with my biscuits if i can smuggle them in.
A really good match played in atrocious conditions in the second half with close to 10k in the crowd made it a good atmosphere. At ht with only a 10 point lead feared the worst but sheer determination energy and commitment from the whole 15 saw us through deserved winners.
The back row was immense and the last 20m our forwards had dominance in the scrum, haven’t seen that at SP for a while !!
Not easy to pick a mom but for me a real prospect who shone well above his opposite number was Cairns at scrum half he should be fast tracked into the first team squad asap for me. Has a bit of a young Danny Care about him. Hope the injury to our young lock not too serious. Finally well done to Aiden Davis two tries in first appearance for the club.
Let’s hope for a big crowd next week after sad news about DW.
Absolutely agree cairns stood out and reminded me of harry Randall should certainly be fast tracked to the first team as Andy has said. Tommy Wyatt and Jenkins were also superb the kicking at goal was outstanding.
Jenkins’ kicking was absolutely outstanding, not only in the conditions but the height and accuracy he got on the ball would have been praiseworthy on a still day. Overall Infinitely better than the dross served up by the first XXIII last night. Pellow , Steenson and Thomas as the new coaching team anyone?
First XV going forward:
Hodge
Relton
Wyatt
Kata
Woodburn
Jenkins(I)
Cairns
Sio
Innard
Schickerling
Jenkins (D)
Tshiunza
Ewers
Davis
Vermeulen
Ignores some Internationals, most of whom are missing for most of the year, and injured.
Should have included Van-Heerden somewhere who is doing a Sam Simmons scoring-wise

That would be interesting team!! 9 and 10 particularly where current team need challenging. Know v little about Iwan jenkins but sounds like he played well.
All things considered including the atrocious conditions I really thought the boys did very well and I enjoyed that game a lot.
I was very impressed with our scrum and how refreshing to see Tom Cairns getting in the ear hole of Sir and TJ……reminded me of Danny Care. Some very good promising young talent out there yesterday who imo can’t be far off a match day 23
Something of a mixed weekend! Another Premiership loss that could/should have been a win, a huge win away from home for the Ladies and a good home win in the Prem Cup.
