The league sorted
That's the leagues sorted and Chiefs top it once again but this time with more points and tries than they have previously scored. It's been a curious season and whilst these stats are quite remarkable as I personnaly don't think the Chiefs have fired on all cylinders for most of it. There has been some stunning rugby played but I don't think the Chiefs have controlled their games as much as they did last season.
So, what about next week and Saints in the semi? I think the second half on Saturday gives us a major indication of what to expect. The Chiefs will look to tighten the defence and avoid giving away easy points whilst imposing themselves on the Saints with pace and precision. I thought Chiefs really looked back to their ruthless best in that half and that sort of momentum will pay dividends. Take nothing away from Saints because they've been playing some great rugby but their won eleven lost eleven record speaks volumes about a lack of consistency. As I said I don't think Chiefs have been on top form but this kind of scenario brings out the best in them and I think a return to Twickenham is on the cards. Who else will get there will be intersting to see.
