A quick look at Chiefs opening opponents over the last seasons.
Season openers

A look at how Exeter Chiefs opening fixtures have panned out over the last seven seasons.
2010/11 - Gloucester Rugby at Sandy Park - Won 22-10
2011/12 - Leicester at Welford Road - Won 28-30
2012/13 - Sale at Sandy Park - Won 43-6
2013/14 - Saints at Franklin's Gardens - Lost 38-11
2014/15 - London Welsh at Kassam Stadium - Won 0-52
2015/16 - Bath at the Rec - Lost 19-17
2016/17 - Wasps at Ricoh - Lost 25-20
We must be due a home game and if it's to be different opposition then the choice comes down to Quins, Falcons or Warriors as Sarries and Irish are home at the London Double Header.

@#%&!
Start the season with another effing jaunt up the M5 on a Friday!
When do the schools go back? I am sure it is the Monday after just to complete the misery........

I'd rather be playing Glaws at their place on a firm, fast track early doors rather than in the dead of winter when their cabbage patch of a pitch resembles a ploughed field!
Rather like our performance in the final last season when we learned from our mistakes of the the previous season's final and came out on top, we must learn from our poor start last season and play like the Champions of England carrying on our unbeaten run!

Is there a good reason why Chiefs don't play at home on a Friday evening?
Quote:Yea but the rugby season doesn't start until the schools go back (bar the first weekend) so it's a bit of a nonsense really. I don't like Friday nigh rugby but I dislike Sundays eVen more so the club should appeal to the council/highways to allow Friday night games at SPZyder headQuote:jojo

I believe the police block Friday night games on traffic congestion grounds as we are on top of the M5.
It makes sense as the M5 is like a car park on Friday's, especially during the summer holidays!

Maybe but it is the last game of the season and normally they are all played at the same time on the Saturday
