There were strong rumours earlier this year that Chief Executive, Tony Rowe and the Directors of Exeter Rugby Club were bidding to host an International match at Sandy Gate. These have now been confirmed with the announcement that England Saxons are to play Italy A on Friday February 2nd 2007.

Exeter Chiefs new ground at Sandy Park (shown here)will have the opportunity to see some of the England stars of the future take on Italy A in their Six Nations match.

Kick off now confirmed as 8.00pm. The ground capacity has been increased to over 10,000 for this match. Ticket from £20 to £35 are now available (ONLY SOUTH STAND TICKETS AVAILABLE - all others sold out). Details on the Official Site Saxon Tickets

The Saxons squad contains some very experienced players such as Richard Hill and Ben Cohen alongside emerging talent. England legend Jason Leonard is to officially open the new ground just before kick-off. It should be a great occassion.
