It was announced this morning that Brent Webb will be staying with the World Club Champions, the Leeds Rhinos for a further three years, keeping the New Zealand international full back at Leeds throughout the prime of his career. It's also a great boost for the squad, management and fans ahead of this Saturday's Carnegie Challenge Cup quarter final clash with the Wigan Warriors.

It was announced this morning that Brent Webb will be staying with the World Club Champions, the Leeds Rhinos for a further three years, keeping the New Zealand international full back at Leeds throughout the prime of his career. It's also a great boost for the squad, management and fans ahead of this Saturday's Carnegie Challenge Cup quarter final clash with the Wigan Warriors, at the stage the Rhinos got knocked out by the pie eaters last year.

The twenty-seven year old was due to be out of contract at the end of this season, and there was rumors circuling amongst fans that the international who has recently earned 17 caps for New Zealand was linked with Warrington and Wigan. 

Webb tells the Rhinos official website how he and his agent worked hard to get this deal, and how he and his wife really enjoy living in Leeds. Brent also comments how he has fitted in well with the squad, and how it has really boosted his confidence having Brian McLennan as head coach. Brent Webb is really up for this weeks Challenge Cup game, and explains how he was really grateful of the other players for getting the club to the quarter finals even though he missed the game whilst he was returning from his New Zealand commitments, on the train from London back to Leeds. He tells the Yorkshire Evening Post how he was nervous, waiting for the text updates on his commute back.

Although the Rhinos prop Ryan Bailey denies it, the stats show that Wigan are the current bogey side for the champs, but Brent Webb sounds confident about the game at the Headingley Carnegie, and he hopes it is a step closer to Wembley Stadium.
