Gillingham travel to Swansea City on Tuesday hoping to earn their first win of 2007. The Gills have a good record agaisnt Swansea since relegation from the Championship, winning every game against the Welsh side and The Gills will be looking to continue that run tomorrow.

Gillingham manager has to do without club captain Ian Cox for the visit to Swansea on Tuesday night. Cox - who scored a brace against the Swans earlier this season at Priestfield - saw red against Cheltenham on Saturday and shall now miss two games.

 

Duncan Jupp missed the trip to Whaddon Road on Saturday after his wife gave birth to his daughter, Jupp however returns to the squad to face Swansea.

 

Trinidad & Tobago international Kelvin Jack shall once again watch from the sidelines, as he is sidelined with a shoulder injury.

 Kenny Jackett will have to do without Kristian O'Leary, Kevin Amankwaah and 'keeper Andy Oakes for the visit of Gillingham on Tuesday night. O'Leary is suspended, Amankwaah is out with a ankle injury and goalkeeper Oakes is sidelined with a knee injury.

 

 Jackett does welcome back Darren Pratley to the side, and has signed Huddersfield striker Pawel Abbott in time to play Gillingham.

 Pawel Abbott

Abbott signed for Swansea from Huddersfield Town for £150,000 on Monday. The striker replaces the outgoing Rory Fallon who has left the Welsh side for Championship football with Plymouth. Abbott scored 51 goals for Huddersfield in 126 games, and moved to the Galpharm for £125,000 is February 2004 from Preston North End.

"We'll treat it as we would any game, we know it's going to be tough, they are a top drawer side, so we'll go in tomorrow morning and assess how many we've got to take to Swansea and we'll take it from there.

"We'll go same as we always do, 4-4-2, we'll stand up and be counted, we'll have a go and on our day you know we can give anybody a game but you've got to be on the top of your game to get anything out of a trip to Swansea. They've spent a hell of a lot of money to try to get out of this league, and they have high expectations, and rightly so with what they've spent. It will be a tough game for us," Jepson said.

 Out of thirty-five previous meetings, both sides share the honours with 13 wins each, and nine ending all-square. Since the Gills' relegation to League One however, the Gills have won every game against the Welsh side. The first was their first away victory of the season last year when goals from Darren Byfield and Neil Harris earnt the Gills all three points. Then the Gills won the double over the Swans at Priestfield on their way to a six match winning run, with Byfield scoring the only goal of the game from the spot. Then earlier this season, goals from Matt Jarvis and two from Ian Cox ensured a three-one victory for the Gills.
