Ronnie Jepson was appointed Gillingham manager in the Winter of 2005 after being caretaker of the club following Neale Cooper's departure.
Jepo had originally joined the club as Stan Ternents number two, the duo immediatly became fans favourites at Priestfield, but despite their success in a short space of time, 'Ronnie & Stanley' couldn't keep the Gills up. But following relegation from the Championship, Ternent left the club but Ronnie chose to stay. He continued his role as assistant manager with Neale Cooper, but following injuries upon injuries and a tight budget, Cooper found it too much and resigned.

Ronnie was appointed caretaker manager and following a succesful spell as caretaker, Scally appointed Ronnie as manager claiming that he was the only man for the job. Ronnie - formally known as 'Rocket Ronnie' by Huddersfield fans after being a popular striker at the club, lifted the Gills to 6 consecutive victories towards the end of the season, including a 1.0 away win at League winners Southend.

Ronnie has brought his knowledge of the game from working under highly successful manager into his Gills side. He has taken an average League 1 side to a promotion hunting squad. Making impressive signings including former Southend due Jupp and Bentley and McDonald.
