Priestfield has been the home of the Gills since the birth of the club as New Brompton in 1893. Since Paul Scally buying the club just over 10 years ago, the stadium has been improved into a League 1 quality stadium. The main stand is called the KM Medway Stand with two tiers, then the loudest stand is the Rainham End - situated behind one goal, then there is the Gordan Road stand which is the smallest stand but a good choice if you don’t want sun in *
your eyes. Then there is the Brian Moore stand named after the late former commentator, gills director and gills fan - Brian Moore. This stand is a roofless temporary stand for home and away fans situated behind one goal.

Gills chairman Paul Scally is planning to build a new stadium for the Gills though with what should be a 20,000 all-seater. This isn’t expected to be completed though until about 2012, if that.
