Brighton come closer to leaving the bottom of the table with a 1-0 victory over Derby County at the Withdean. A goal on 89 minute from Kerry Mayo sealed the victory I've not yet seen any other reviews, so I have to base it on BBCNI Teletext reports

Derby County were reduced to 10 men after 52 minutes, and Kerry Mayo scored in the 89th minute.

This victory has not lifted Brighton off the bottom, but coupled with draws from Grimsby and Sheffield Wednesday, and a Stoke defeat, means they can theoretically lift themselves out of the bottom three. All eyes will be on Watford versus Ipswich tomorrow, to see how they do. Ipswich and Brighton will both be on 17 games, compared to 19 for the rest of the division.

This is the third match on the trot in which Brighton scored points, and it bodes well for recently appointed manager Steve Coppell.
