Muttiah Muralitharan embarrassed England today ending up with 8-70 after England struggled again. This series is drawn but most England fans will be disappointed by the lack of enthusiasm in the last npower test match. England came out today knowing they were in for a rough ride but England came out quite well with Monty Panesar getting his first fifer.
The England batsmen new they would need to perform to their best ability and came out quite strong but Sri Lankan captain introduced Murali into the attack and suddenly they were back on top.
Andrew Strauss ended up on 55, the only major contribution with his partner Trescothick being bowled for 31 off a good length ball from Murali.
Alastair Cook fell LBW to the spin king and then got KEvin pIetersen and Andrew Flintoff who fell for a duck.
Paul Collingwood was next to go and would feel a little unlucky as he edged the ball onto his foot and was caught by Dilshan.
After tea many spectators had realistically predicted the outcome as Murali was bowling out of his skin claiming 6 wickets and on his way for 10. But this wasn't going to happen as Kapugedera ran out Hoggard after Jones was bowled.
A exciting partnership between Panesar and Plucket got the fans on their feet but England eventually lost drawing the series 1-1.
