England opener Marcus Trescothick has been left out of the ICC champions trophy squad due to a 'medical condition.' The out of form left hander backed out of the India tour because of 'personal problems' but this time his specialist has backed him to pull out.

Marcus did want to play in the tournament which is dubbed 'the mini world cup' but will now sit out which is said to be a "sensitive medical issue."

"It's a very sensitive issue, a medical issue," said Fletcher.

Marcus then spoke.

"I was keen to take part in the ICC Champions Trophy but I do appreciate that my specialist's advice is that I must first continue the treatment devised for me," Trescothick said.

"Having come to terms with the full extent of my illness last winter, I recognise that I am now well on course to make a full recovery and I am determined to play a full part in the Ashes tour."

A spokes person from the peformance health care descibed it as "acquired gastrointestinal infection".

England fans will just hope he is 100% for the ashes tour while the Champions Trophy campaign starts on 15 October.
