Probably still smarting from the trip to Caldy, Albion return to the Brickfields to host Chinnor in the National One League.  

Chinnor lie 7th in the league, 14 points ahead, however, they too have had an inconsistent season to date and only ended a losing run of 5 games with a win against basement club Tonbridge Juddians last week.

The reverse fixture saw Albion pull off a late recovery to clinch the game 36-41 but Chinnor have proved a difficult side to beat at Brickfields.

It looks as if Chinnor like to get off to a fast start chalking up a significant proportion of their points in the first half. Come the second and they wane and concede mostly in the last quarter.

Difficult to see weaknesses in the offensive line with scoring power spread fairly evenly throughout the side. Defensively it's a similar story, but perhaps opportunities may avail themselves to the backs.

So Albion could do themselves a lot of favours by taking advantage of Chinnors current form particularly as Blackheath are also experiencing a lack of form. Prevent them from scoring in the first half and hopefully opportunities will come in the second.

Weather: Strong Breeze with light showers. A little chilly.

Forecast: With home advantage, Albion to take a narrow victory.

Another must win game if we are to avoid another relegation.
We really seem to be struggling for players, as much as I enjoyed watching Wayne Sprangle play a number of years ago I think we should have younger players to call on.

Our problems all come from the covid pandemic , a xonsequence of which was the inability to attract players down to the South West on a part time/pay per play basis if there is a potential of no games at all. Net result is a scrabble around for players at levels 3-5 standard.

Thar is not to say that long term (3-5 seasons) they can not be brought up to a higher standard, but it won't happen overnight.

There's talk of Pirates going semi pro, I wonder if that will help us to recruit players?

Re the comment about Pirates their owner put out a statement to say he was putting two and a half million pounds into the club over the next three years, so no problems with semi pro.
