With high expectations for the game in terms of both being our favourite derby game I guess, and of course something of must win occasion we looked forward to an exciting afternoon. The extra crowds that descended on Brickfields beyond that of the expected numbers were evident in the long queues that started to build up shortly before the kickoff when one would have expected most folk to have long been inside the ground. This photo was taken some fifteen minutes before the kick off and it streched way back along Maddern Road we were told.
We are now some ten minutes before kick off and if anything the queue mat well have grown in size, and unfortunately it was too late for the refferee give permission for a delayed kick off so those late arrivals were going to miss out it seemed.

This is now some five minutes before the kick off, still a massive queue. I understnd that some may have had a delayed journey but there were many Pirates fans in the ground eating and drinking even hours before the kick off, just as it used to be those few years ago.

Here's that man again, Paves doing what he does best .

I know the lineouts were crass from our point of view, but here is one that worked for us, we let them use two jumpers then collect the ball, simples.

Deckers in action

Scrum time.

Not something you see very often these days, and the opposite stand was sold out.

Wishfull I'm afraid.
