Plymouth Albion backs Tom Bowen and Louis Messer sign on for next season

Plymouth Albion are pleased to announce that backs Tom Bowen and Louis Messer have signed one year contracts to play for the club next season.

20 year old Bowen, who joined Albion last summer from Leicester, has made a big impression in his first season at the club.

Bowen made 18 Championship appearances and finished the season as the third highest try scorer with 6 touchdowns.

Bowen, who frightens defences with his sheer pace, recently picked up the Albion supporters best young player of the season award.

24 year old Messer, another who joined Albion last summer, quickly made the full back berth his own before suffering a serious knee injury.

Messer damaged his ACL in his second appearance for the club and surgery put him out for most of the season. After extensive rehabilitation Messer made it back onto the field for Albion’s last two games of the season.

Commenting on the new contracts Albion’s CEO Debbie Fisher said, “Tom Bowen is such a promising young player and a second season of Championship will really help his development.

We are really pleased that Louis Messer has accepted a new contract with Albion. Having been injured for a large part of last season, we are keen to see Louis reach his full potential in the next campaign.”
