Jimmy Bullard has been dropped from the squad in light of his £2.5million move to Fulham, for the visit of Portsmouth this weekend. Andreas Johansson or Damien Francis is likely to get the nod to partner Graham Kavanagh in central Midfield.

Portsmouth have Pedro Mendes, Lomana LuaLua and Andy O'Brien back in the squad.

Gary O'Neil is set to play despite suffering with a foot injury that will need a pain-killing injection.

Paul Jewell on Jimmy Bullard's move to Fulham:

"It's come out of the blue and the timing is not the best. The fee has been agreed but the two chairmen are still at odds over the methods of payment.

"Whatever happens he won't feature against Portsmouth. I'm hoping the deal will fall through and he'll be back in the squad for Arsenal.

"I'm pleased we are playing a team that's fighting for their lives because that should be a lift enough for my players."
