Wigan's unsettled defender Andy Webster looks set to be going out on loan to Glasgow Rangers. Andy has been reported today to have travelled to Glasgow to have a medical for the Scottish club after joining Wigan in the summer from Hearts. Paul Jewell who has in the last ten days brought in Andreas Granqvist on a loan deal looks set for Andy to go out on loan to gain first team experience since dropping down the pecking order at Wigan.

Rangers caretaker manager Ian Durrant said "He is going through a medical just now and if it all goes through he will be a great acquisition for the club."

As long as Andy passes the medical without problems he could be in action as early as this weekend in Rangers Scottish cup tie which is against Dunfermline.

Hopefully Andy will Gain valuable first team experience and return ready to compete for his place in the senior squad at Latics.
