Nick Heidfeld is hoping a new aerodynamic package at the Turkish Grand Prix will help him banish the memory of the disappointing result in Monte Carlo. Read what the BMW Sauber F1 Team driver has to say ahead of the race in Istanbul. "I hope our dismal performance in Monaco proves to be a glitch, and that it was down to that particular circuit being unsuitable for our car," says Nick. "After all, there were signs of a forward trend at the previous race in Spain, and the next update is ready for Istanbul - including a double diffuser."

Like team-mate Robert Kubica, Nick is looking forward to one section of the 5.338km "Istanbul Speed Park" in particular: the infamous turn eight. This is "quite a challenge", as the German puts it. "It is very long, fast and with several apexes". The long straight also requires a good top speed.

Nick will travel to Istanbul on Wednesday to take part in a PR event with Official Partner Intel. The seventh race weekend of the year gets underway with the first free practice on Friday. Nick will travel from the hotel to the venue of the Turkish Grand Prix, located in the Asian part of the metropolis, on two wheels: "I'm staying at a hotel on the European side again, and will take a motor scooter to carve my way through the congestion over the bridge into Asia."
