According to Lens, they have rejected a 7.5 million pound bid for their star striker Olivier Thomert from Everton. Everton are known to be interested in signing a striker and were linked with Thomert in the summer. Thomert has been sensational form this season helping his club Lens towards the top of the French table and this has led to interest from several clubs including Manchester City and Newcastle. However because of his form this season, Lens are seemingly not willing to sell their main striker until the end of the season.

With interest in Nicolas Anelka and now Thomert it seems Everton are desperatly trying to sign a decent striker. However with ridiculous bids for Michael Owen and Dirk Kuyt in the summer the chances are that this supposed 7.5million will never be seen again.
