The weekending 4th September 2005, news, reviews and transfer gossip from Goodison Park and the man himself, Everton Manager, David Moyes.
The week ending 4th September 2005
Andy Van Der Meyde was our only signing on transfer deadline day although leaked reports to papers linked Moyes with Nugent and Etuhu from Preston, Robbie Keane of Spurs and even Benni Mcarthy of Porto.
There where no premiership football matches this week as England took on Wales at Cardiff. Joe Cole scoring the only goal. The biggest surprise was Young at right back against Ryan Giggs due to Gary Neville being injured, and it was no surprise that as the game got further on, Giggs tore down the right hand side as if no-one was there. The obvious choice for that position when Gary is injured would have been his brother Phil, but then again Sven chooses Calamity in goal!
It emerged over the weekend that Robbie Keane could be a winter signing along with confirmed signing Da Silva (who is currently on loan at Malaga to gain an EU passport for work permit reasons). However, this has still formerly to be confirmed by either club. It is believed that Keane was approached on transfer deadline day but a deal could not be struck at the last minute.
Kroldrup's injury seems to be on the mend and the player can hopefully star in his league debut for Everton although no date has been set for the Danish International.
