Ferrari has signed a 12 month contract

Roma's Matteo Ferrari has joined Everton on Loan for 12 months. It is believed that the deal has been held up by Roma officials messing around and not agreeing, but the player is desperate to leave Italy.

Everton will have the option to buy at the end of the current season for 3.7m if Moyes wants him. He flew in on Tuesday morning to train with some of the lads and Moyes made his mind up there and then on the player.

The Algerian born defender is indeed a very high profile player in Italy and although he has fallen down the squad number order he still made 35 senior first team appearances last season before the arrival of Samuel Kaffour in the summer finally sealed his fate.
