Real Madrid accepts Everton bid for Owen

David Moyes reveals that an £8m offer for Michael Owen was accepted by Real Madrid. But the lure of Goodison Park was not enough for Micheal Owen, who supported Everton in his childhood, as it is believed basic weekly wage became a stumbling block.

On August 1st 2005, a £10m offer was put forward to Feyenoord for the impressive Dutch striker Dirk Kuyt but was rejected, although it is believed that Kuyt is holding out for a better offer. |
It is believed that Moyes, backed financially by the Everton board, are still looking into bringing in a high profile player before the end of the transfer window for UEFA and Premiership competitions.
