Liverpool's Dietmar Hamann could become a Bolton Wanderers player at the second time of asking after it was reported that the two clubs had reached an agreement. Both the Bolton Evening News and Liverpool Echo claim that the former German international is set for a move to the Reebok Stadium on a Free Transfer just twelve months after snubbing the very same move.

The 32-year old found opportunities limited at Anfield last season and it appears as if he is being given the green light to move clubs by the Reds manager Rafael Benitez.

Hamann moved to the Merseysiders from Newcastle United in the summer of 1999 and during his time at Liverpool has won every honour in the English game apart from the Premiership title.

Famous for scoring the last ever goal at the old Wembley Stadium, Hamann will initially cost the Wanderers nothing with £500,000 paid out dependant on how many appearances he makes for the club.

Officials at Bolton and Liverpool have so far refused to comment on the deal and the player himself is in Germany this weekend to watch his country take on Costa Rica in their opening World Cup match.
