Sam Allardyce has confirmed that he would like to bring Robbie Fowler to Bolton over the summer if the veteran striker cannot agree a new deal at Liverpool. Fowler scored the only goal of the game for the Merseysiders during their 1-0 win over Wanderers yesterday afternoon prompting speculation that he will more than likely extend his second spell at Anfield which began in January following his release by Manchester City.

However, Reds manager Rafa Benitez has yet to give any indication as to whether or not Fowler will be playing for the Merseyside club next season leaving him open to offers from other clubs and Bolton cheif Allardyce has already said that he will look into the situation.

"You'd always think about a goalscorer like him, but it would depend on the big numbers. If he keeps on scoring for Liverpool, they will want to keep him." Allardyce told Sky Sports

"One of their problems has been scoring, but their defence is the ultimate and it is what we are trying to achieve
