Bolton could be about to hand a Premiership return to the versatile Martin Djetou according to a report appearing in today's Sunday People newspaper.
Djetou has been without a club since leaving French club Nice at the end of last season and subsequent trial spells with the likes of Southampton and Crystal Palace have failed to come to anything.
The 30-year old is perhaps best known to English supporters for his two-year loan spell with Fulham between 2002 and 2004 having fell out of favour with the Italian giants Parma due to a contractual dispute.
During his extended spell with the Cottagers he made well over 50 appearances in the Premiership and faced the Wanderers on a couple of occasions, the last time being on the final day of the 2003-2004 season.
The Ivory-Coast born player can play anywhere across the back four as well as in a defensive midfield role and such versatility is something which the Wanderers could do with at the moment given their recent injury problems.
It has been suggested that Bolton are awaiting a response from Djetou who has recently been training with German club Duisburg in a bid to keep his fitness levels up.
However, Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce has recently ruled out making any moves in the out-of-contract market after being linked with Portugal's Euro 2004 full back Rui Jorge a couple of weeks ago.
