Portuguese international Rui Jorge is being linked with a post transfer window move to Bolton Wanderers after coming off-contract with Sporting Lisbon.
A report in today's Sun newspaper claims that Bolton will move for the experienced 32-year old to increase their defensive options having missed out on the signature of Olivier Bernard last month.
Sam Allardyce knows that his Wanderers squad is still thin on the ground defensively, stating that a lack of finance was the main reason behind why the Wanderers could only bring in either Fabrice Fernandes or Bernard, the latter of whom turned his back on the club to accept a bigger pay day at Glasgow Rangers.
All depends on whether or not ex-Porto player Jorge would be prepared to play under a short term arrangement for a lesser wage than he has been accustomed to for the last seven years in Lisbon.
A Bolton spokesperson earlier told Walking Down The Manny Road that the story was "just newspaper speculation".
