Bolton have made their fifth signing of the summer as Lens defender Abdoulaye Diagne-Faye has signed a year long loan deal with the club.

The 27-year old moves to the Reebok Stadium for an initial 12 months, with a view to a more permanent arrangement if he impresses during his stay in the English Premiership.

Bolton had been monitoring the Senegalese international during pre-season training, and had hoped to secure a work permit for the player so he could join his compatriots El-Hadji Diouf and Khalilou Fadiga.

This has now been granted by the Home Office and Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce is delighted to have finally added the versatile African to his squad:

"I am delighted that Abdoulaye has signed. He will be a great addition to our squad. He's a versatile player with proven experience in France and possesses the right character to play in what is the toughest league in the world."
