Former Bolton Wanderers and Nigeria captain Jay-Jay Okocha has revealed that he intends to retire at the end of this season once his initial agreement with Championship side Hull City comes to an end.

The 34-year old was a huge hit for Bolton after arriving from Paris Saint Germain in the summer of 2002 and along with the likes of Youri Djorkaeff and Ivan Campo helped to put the Wanderers on the map.

He made 124 appearances for Bolton in the Premier League, scoring 14 goals and in the 2003-2004 season he played an instrumental part in helping the Trotters reach the Carling Cup Final where they eventually lost out to Middlesbrough at the Millennium Stadium.

In 2006 he was given a Free Transfer by manager Sam Allardyce and went on to spend a year in Qatar before linking up with former Bolton coach Phil Brown at Hull last year.

Okocha says he won't move into coaching straight away and instead intends to pursue other business interests outside the game.

"I am just thinking until the end of this season. Who knows what will happen but now I think that will be me done. After Hull that is it, I feel that this is my last bus stop" said the former African Player of the Year to BBC Radio Humerside.

"I don't think I will go into coaching for now, I would like to try some other things, there are a lot of things to do and I will try to start a new life, a new challenge and I'm looking forward to it." he added

Bolton supporters will best remember Okocha for the silky skills which he showed throughout his time at the Reebok Stadium with goals against West Ham United in the league and Aston Villa in the League Cup proving particularly memorable.
