Bolton Wanderers will be hoping for their first away league win of the season and only their second league win overall when they take on West Ham United in a live Premiership encounter at Upton Park on Sunday afternoon.

Gary Megson's first two games in charge of the Trotters reads one draw and one defeat but on both occasions the Wanderers had been unlucky due to some slapdash officiating.

Last season Bolton went down 3-1 in East London in Sammy Lee's first game in charge so Megson will be hoping for better luck in what is his first game in charge away from home.

Top scorer Nicolas Anelka and right back Joey O'Brien are looking increasingly likely to be ruled out after injuring their hamstring against Aston Villa and Manchester City respectively so Nicky Hunt could come back into the fold with Stelios Giannakopoulos keeping his place in the side.

Better news for Megson is that Andy O'Brien and Kevin Davies look to have recovered from their recent knocks and could be back in the side for the trip South.

West Ham boss Alan Curbishley has a number of injury worries to contend with for the Wanderers visit as Dean Ashton, Craig Bellamy, Anton Ferdinand, Bobby Zamora and Julien Faubert are all ruled out with injury.

Midfielders Mark Noble and Hayden Mullins are expected to play despite picking up knocks in the midweek cup tie against Coventry City and there is also a return for on loan Wigan Athletic striker Henri Camara and ex-Newcastle and Aston Villa winger Nolberto Solano.

Bolton last won in the league at Upton Park in August 2005 when goals from Ivan Campo and Kevin Nolan gave the Trotters a valuable 2-1 away win and new boss Megson will be hoping for a similar result at the weekend.

Bolton have beaten West Ham away just once in the Premiership. This as mentioned came in August 2005 with Kevin Nolan and Ivan Campo scoring the goals.

Ian Pearce, now of Fulham, was sent off for West Ham when these two sides met in a relegation crunch match at the Reebok Stadium in April 2003. Bolton won the game by a single goal but the melee that followed required police intervention.

These two teams where the first ever visitors to Wembley in the 1923 FA Cup Final. Bolton won 2-0 with goals coming from JR Smith and the legendary David Jack. Last year Brian Belton brought out a book entitled "The Lads of 23'" to mark the occasion and the re-opening of Wembley.
