Bolton Want Bruce

Birmingham City's long serving manager Steve Bruce has confirmed that he has been approached by Bolton Wandererers regarding the current managerial vacancy at the Reebok Stadium.

Morning reports in The Sun newspaper claimed that the former Manchester United defender had been approached by Bolton and this has now been confirmed by Bruce himself on Sky Sports News.

However, any hopes of luring the 46-year old back to the North West appears to be slim with Birmingham denying the Wanderers the chance to speak with their manager and Bruce saying that whilst he is flattered with the interest he is still under contract at St Andrews.

Bruce's future with the Midlands club has been uncertain in recent weeks with prospective new owner Carson Yeung giving no indication yet as to whether he wants Bruce to continue his six year reign.

Similar noises where being made at the KC Stadium today where Hull City manager and former Wanderers captain Phil Brown ruled himself out of the running to replace Sammy Lee.
