Bolton Wanderers have confirmed that experienced Scottish coach Archie Knox will take charge of first team affairs until a successor can be found to replace Sammy Lee who left the club yesterday lunchtime.

Knox only arrived at the Reebok Stadium as Coaching Co-ordinator in August but now he is handed the task of keeping the club settled whilst they sort out their future plans.

The 60-year old last managed in 1986 but a variety of roles as assistant at club and international level means that the Wanderers are in good hands.

His impressive CV includes coaching Scotland at all levels up to the U21 stage, right hand roles at Everton, Glasgow Rangers, Manchester United, Millwall and Coventry City as well as managerial positions with Forfar Athletic and Dundee.
