Les Ferdinand may have only spent six months at Bolton Wanderers during his long and illustrious career, the the former England international is confident that his old club can get out of the trouble which they currently find themselves in.

Ferdinand, now a pundit on the Setanta Sport channel, says that the Wanderers have enough characters about their squad to move on up the table in the weeks that lie ahead.

The 40-year old beleives the likes of Gary Speed, Kevin Nolan and Jussi Jaaskelainen are the right type of people to have around as the club look to move out of the bottom three.

Nicolas Anelka's goals will also be important and Ferdinand has backed the club he spent the majority of the 2004-2005 season with to be in and amongst the top ten at the seasons end.

"Having spent a bit of time with the players there, I know what there mentality and focus is." said the likeable Londoner to the Bolton News

"Gary Speed is a wise old head and with Kevin Nolan as the skipper these guys are winners. Nicolas Anelka is capable of scoring against anyone and there are some big personalities in the dressing room" he added
