Knox To Assist Bolton?

The Daily Mirror claims that Bolton Wanderers manager Sammy Lee is turning to veteran Scotland U21 boss Archie Knox to become the clubs new assistant manager with an appointment said to be imminent.

Knox 60, was Sir Alex Ferguson's assistant at Manchester United between 1986 and 1991 and he has also held coaching positions at Aberdeen, Glasgow Rangers, Everton, Livingston, Millwall and Coventry City.

He was a manager in his own right in the late 1970's and early 1980's with Forfar Athletic and Dundee and has been in his current role since July 2006 when his old friend Walter Smith took over as Scotland national boss.

Lee has previously gone down on record to say that he does not need an assistant manager and instead prefers to use a General Manager and a number of coaches.
