Slovakian youngster Zoltan Harsanyi gave Bolton chief Sammy Lee a timely reminder of his capabilities when firing home a double for the Wanderers reserves in their Manchester Senior Cup tie against Manchester City earlier this evening.

The 20-year old struck a goal in each half to give Jimmy Phillips side a winning start to the new season against current Manchester Cup holders City at the Regional Athletics Arena (SportCity).

Harsanyi put Bolton in front on nine minutes when beating City goalkeeper Joe Hart to the ball and new signing Christian Wilhelmsson went close to adding a second from distance when testing the young custodian.

Belgian striker Emile Mpenza tried to catch out Wanderers keeper Ali Al-Habsi with a lob but the Oman international fingertipped the ball to safety to keep Bolton in the driving seat.

Ashley Grimes nearly got the home side back on level terms after the break but a post and some good goalkeeping by Al-Habsi denied the youngster.

Bolton wrapped up the game with just over fifteen minutes remaining when Harsanyi netted his second of the night with an unstoppable shot which left Hart with no chance.

Substitute Karl Moore pulled a goal back for City in the last minute when he converted a penalty but Wanderers had already done the damage.
