Bolton Wanderers manager Sammy Lee has laughed off the media reports which have linked versatile Senegalese international Abdoulaye Faye with a £1.5 million move to local rivals Wigan Athletic.
Yesterday's Daily Mirror newspaper claimed that the 29-year old giant was on his way to the JJB Stadium as part of Chris Hutchings summer rebuilding programme but Lee says he has had no contact with his Wigan counterpart about Faye.
"We have not had an offer from Wigan for Abdoulaye Faye. I speak to Chris Hutchings all the time and I know they haven't made an offer for the player." said Lee after seeing his Bolton side defeat Tranmere Rovers in a friendly.
Faye was absent from the starting line up for the game at Prenton Park but any potential sale involving the former Lens player would be considered to be suicide as he has been a key player of the Bolton team in his two years at the Reebok when operating in either a defensive midfield role or as a centre half.
Turkish giants Besiktas where linked with a £3 million swoop earlier in the summer for the African who still has a year to run on his current contract with the Trotters.
