Tal Set For Reebok Departure

Bolton Wanderers midfielder Idan Tal has been given permission to speak to Israeli champions Beitar Jerusalem about a possible transfer back to his native country after just one year back in English football.

The 31-year old signed a pre-contract agreement to move to Bolton in April 2006 after a successful spell with Maccabi Haifa but the move to the Reebok Stadium has not worked out for the former Everton player.

Last season he started just seven games for the club with the rest of his twenty appearances being as a substitute. His only goal for the club came in an FA Cup win over Doncaster Rovers in January.

With Wanderers signing three midfielders this summer it was always going to be difficult for Tal to get a regular starting berth and a move back home will enable the veteran to get more games under his belt.

Tal will fly from Bolton's training camp in Austria to start the negotiations with Jerusalem.
